Week 4

3 Accomplishments from the week:

My main accomplishment for this week was finding sources and getting my literature review mostly written. Though not as daunting, I was also able to write the methodologies section of my paper. I also managed to go through a significant amount of my letters and create a better timeline for analyzing the remaining letters. 

3 things preventing my best work this week:

One thing that prevented my best work this week was confusion on how to write a literature review. I found it somewhat difficult to choose my secondary sources, so I felt like I had very limited time to write my literature review. My lack of familiarity with QGIS and unfortunate technical difficulties with the software also caused me to feel a little bit discouraged. Having trouble balancing my time trying to go through my large subset of letters, write my literature review, and write my methodologies also seemed to prevent me from being as focused and efficient as I would have liked. 

3 things I learned this week:

The first thing and, in my opinion, the most interesting thing I learned this week was how to make a website accessible with alt text, proper headers, color contrast, and simplified navigation. I also learned how to write the methodology section of my research paper. I also learned how to better navigate my spreadsheets to extract and sort the information I need.

The next step I need to do for my research is analyzing more of my letters and picking out the relevant locations in them for my mapping component.
